Our History
ECA Consortium A/S was founded in 2014 as a cost association to offer a more affordable alternative to high-priced Letters of Access (LoA) for Electro-Chemical Activation (ECA) technology.
After submitting its active substance dossier to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in June 2015, the consortium received approval for Product Types (PT) 1–5 on December 1, 2015. In 2016, the association transitioned into a limited company to better support its growing operations.
Key Milestones:
2014: Founded as a cost association to reduce industry costs for LoAs.
2015: Submitted comprehensive dossier to ECHA.
Dec 1, 2015: Received approval for ECA technology (PT 1–5).
2016: Reorganized as a limited company.
Present: 14 active shareholders; offering LoAs for Article 95 compliance and supporting businesses with EU biocide legislation (BPR, Regulation EU 528/2012) for ECA water technology.
